 then choose option enabled be hide and disable all item on the desktop. continue with click apply or ok. and enclosing window group policy editor.

furthermore, try log off and after you are log on return, all icons and shortcut exist in desktop hasn't seen again, seen clean,  and your wallpaper beauty will not shut by it.

if we like to return to like at first, follow steps as in on, only if come up with option hide and enable all items on the desktop choose note configurated then click apply or ok. then try log off and after log on, icon at desktop return to like at first.
